In the beginning things were easy. No worries. No expectations beyond belief. Should this be a mystery? a poem? a dream? or just raw inhibitions and natural desires that each of us have and most of the time hide. Ever wanted to tell your boss to go get phuked?? Sure you have. Have you ever done such a thing?? NOWAY. So i ask you why? Can you remember what it was like to live life without that job you have grown so dependent upon? Do you think that your boss really cares about what you think or are you certain that the sob is just keeping you there for tax purposes? Maybe your a real asset to the company or just a fall guy for when things get out of hand. Ask yourself a few questions and the sooner you have the answers the better. Number one; Can this company continue without me even for a day?? Number two; How much do i really look forward to getting up and going to that job i love so much?? Number three; If i didn't have the job i have now what would i be doing to fill the days of my life?? Each of these questions deserve non-less than the total attention of your mind, body, and soul. If you are in a job you hate but stay because it pays the bills or because your wife's expecting number 2, 3, or 4. For what ever reason you hold on to that precious and detrimental job,,, ask yourself one more question. When i am on my death bed will i be satisfied with the life i have led?? Now comes the hardest part. Being honest with yourself and your inner feelings. Can you remember what it was you loved so much as a kid?? Surprise!! Were you aware that that long lost love is forever swimming around in your soul and that in the depths of your heart how you really and truly want to continue in that child hood dream?? So many of us get sidetracked from our dreams, be it lifes extenuating circumstances or just out of plain lack of desire and the forever running thought of being singled out for doing what you want to do. Your mind so logically surrenders to surrounding influences. How many of you got the job you have now by accident?? When you were a child did you ever think to yourself that where you are now is where you always wanted to be?? But Jeff, i can't be what i wanted to be when i was a child. The most commonly unreachable dreams are those involving sports and movie stars and musicians. Okay maybe you aren't as young and energetic as you once were,, did you know that was okay also. you can reach your dreams on any level, the first key is to not loose site of that dream. Well i am 4'8" and i am sure i will never be the NBA all-star i have always dreamed of being. So where does that leave you. For starters i bet being the NBA all-star was not your real true heartfelt soul led desire. God, or lets not get religious , lets say the force controlling all things understandable and not comprehensible by our human mind, we will refer to this force as G force... the g force controlling your life did not put the NBA all-star in your heart and soul if it is an unreachable goal. Whatever you love to do therefore you are led. Wait a minute i know what you are all saying. This is total bullshit. Well i say to you that if that is how you feel look your little eyes up a few lines to the sentence telling you to be honest with yourself. You know as well as i know that if you are still reading this then first, yes, there was a dream and second , no, you didn't follow your heart. I'm a dr. now but when i was a kid i wanted to be a writer. So what happened? where did i take that wrong turn and why am i not happy. The only people in the world that are truly happy are those that followed through with there childhood dreams and that were able to see those dreams materialize before there eyes. Easy to do?? No. Worth the time and effort put forth to see those inner most desires come true?? Yes. Don't get me wrong, i am not telling you to quit the job that keeps your family fed but also , and most important, do not let that job keep you from your dreams. If you are not happy doing what you are doing then for "G force" sake change it. No one can live your life for you and believe me no one ever will. Life is short and realizing what it is that makes you bubble with joy and rise above the hum drum rule of society that all things are out out of your control and you better just be thankful for what you have now ,,,geese now that is total bullshit. No one can lead you where you want to go. No one wants to. I don't want to lead you i just want you to be aware of things that you have long forgot. Remember when you used to make those little paper airplanes and then you would rare back and throw them hard as you could and make them fly as far as possible. A big lesson can be learned from that one tiny instance. Why not fly as far as you can?? Why be grounded by the rules of life that keep you and your dreams, most of the time, from ever reaching the potential that the "G force" has so delicately laid at your feet. It is up to you and you alone whether to pick up your dream and let it fly or simply and so often done without even realizing it , just walk on past it. The door will only open if you knock and sometimes you have to knock and knock and then when your knuckles are tired and sore knock some more. Don't let your dreams, no matter how outrageous or unrealistic they seem, get out of your reach. So you always wanted to be an animal photographer, but now you make 4 or 5 hundred dollars a week doing drywall. You hate the mud and the tape and washing up the tools and this heat is killing you. But you are paying the bills. It is this that literally blinds you from your dreams. Take what you can see now and what you know is the way of life. Lets live safe and secure even though the joy in your heart is sour and the smile on your face transparent and the all but lost fact that you just want to take pictures of animals. I will say again DO NOT loose site of your dream. Maybe you wanted to build a monster truck but life just wont let you see that dream come true. It takes money and i have none, it takes time and i have none, it takes hard work and i get all choked up at the thought of hard work. Horse puckey. If you were doing what makes you happy you would not be so blinded by all that keep you from your goal but you would be optimistic about where the money, time, energy would all come from. Wait a minute. I never said you wouldn't have to make sacrifices but i will say that any sacrifice you make to follow your dream is only saw to be a sacrifice while your dream has not yet came to pass. You know whats in your heart, you know what is deep in your soul crying out , struggling to come to pass and why you were so strategically placed with this particular dream. No one but YOU knows what this dream is. Your boss can't tell you and even if he could would he?? i mean he needs you to do his work for him , you know making his dreams come true while you put yours off till the weather is perfect for a change. This philosophy is the downfall of men, women, and children alike, keeping us from ever reaching our goals and surpassing the inner most desires of our heart and soul. I hope you have enjoyed this endeavor into your heart and soul and that you can see your dream all to plain now and that you will remember and always hold close to your heart what it was you loved from the start. A healer?? No. A dreamer?? Yes. Wishing you and yours the best and hoping that you will take the precious time to ponder the thoughts that reading this has inspired in your being. There is only ONE RULE and hoping you never forget it and that rule is BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF. Till next time be happy and forever perusing your dream. What ever it maybe.
